County Councillor Peter Jones, Tory leader of East Sussex County Council, may have just sealed his council's ignominious end, along with his neighbouring West Sussex right-wing local regime, by forcing a high-cost South Downs National Park inquiry ("Park status inquiry call sparks outrage" The Argus, November 29).
Good riddance to both. Roll on regional democracy
