Lewes powered into the third round of the FA Trophy for the first time in their history after a superb 3-0 away win at Harlow Town.

The home side had lost just once at home in all competitions this season but Matt Allen's fourth minute goal gave the Rooks a lead which they rarely looked like relinquishing.

There were just two major scares.

A moment of indecision by young Lewes goalkeeper Russell Tanner was nearly costly on the half hour but the ball eventually trickled just past the far post after Gary Ansell's cross had caused problems The strength of the Lewes squad was underlined by the scorers of the second and third goals, both of whom appeared as late substitutes.

Tony Reid finished well after Jon Palmer's miss-hit shot fell invitingly into his path and then Gareth Green scored a fine solo goal just before the end.

An 89th-minute goal dumped Horsham out of the FA Trophy at Queen Street as Ryman division one north visitors Thame United escaped with a 2-1 victory.

Despite dominating much of the possession, Horsham boss John Maggs was critical of his players.

He said: "That hurt me personally because I wanted to do well in this competition.

"We were very poor. We did not work hard enough, we had no passion and no ideas.

"I've told the lads it has got to be much better. I hope they are sick with themselves."

Thame took the lead after 20 minutes when Horsham keeper Ian Chatfield could not hold Mark West's low cross and Ben Freeman lifted the loose ball into the net from close range.

Horsham fought back and Gavin Geddes stabbed in a shot from the edge of the penalty area on 42 minutes that was headed away by James Sausbury on the line.

The hosts dominated after the break and only desperate defending from Thame kept their lead intact.

The equaliser came after 62 minutes when Alan Foster did well to save from Carlo Castrechino, but the ball rolled straight to Geddes to drill home.

The visitors stole the win in the 89th minute through Mark Avery.

Bognor crashed out 4-1 to Ryman premier division outfit Hendon.

Martin Randall gave Hendon a fourth minute lead but three goals in the last ten minutes wrapped it up for the visitors when the hosts were dreaming of forcing a replay.

Paul Towler (80 minutes), Ricci Crace (84) and Eugene Ofori (90) got Hendon's goals while Matt Russell replied in the 88th minute for the Rocks.
