Belatedly, Brighton and Hove City Council is advertising the fact the King Alfred centre is still open for business and will be until 2004.
Unfortunately, the negative publicity surrounding the renovation of this complex has led many people to believe the King Alfred Ballroom is closed. This is not the case and regular functions are being held there, including the Friday evening KA Club.
The Mingles singles club was given notice by the council when the previous development plans were being considered but, when these fell through, the KA Club was formed as a replacement.
This is the only singles club for
the over-25s open on a Friday night on the whole of the South Coast. It features disco music for dancing from the Fifties to current pop in a warm and friendly atmosphere. There is an adjacent car park available.
The club opens at 8pm until 12.30am so come along and meet old friends and make new ones. For more information, call 01273 880055 from 9am to 5pm.
