ABBA tribute favourites Bjorn Again, alternative country, the return of the Levellers and the Cuban dance of the century are our picks for the

coming week.

Bjorn Again, Dome Concert Hall, Brighton, December 5.

That Dancing Queen anthem is set to go on forever.

This glitzy band formed in 1989 when their helicopter and a giant glittery platform shoe collided. Remembering nothing apart from some beautiful melodies, they formed a band and were often mistaken for Swedish supergroup Abba who won the Eurovision Song Contest at the Brighton Dome in 1974. In reality, they are, of course, Bjorn Again.

Starts 8pm, tickets £10/12.50/16.50, 01273 709709.

Lambchop, The Old Market, Brighton, December 3.

Nashville's alternative country act consists of anything from seven to 14 members playing a myriad of instruments.

This means they rarely tour and are worth checking out when they do. This time, they leave the 13-strong band behind and return as a quartet to reinterpret their unclassifiable hybrid of country, soul, jazz and avant-garde noise. It is all held together by the surreal lyrical wit and droll vocal presence of frontman Kurt Wagner.

Starts 8.30pm, £14.50/£15.00, 01273 709709.

The Levellers, Dome Concert Hall, Brighton, December 3.

Get out your fiddle, stamp those feet and get ready to shake your head because Brighton's very own folk-rockers with a conscience are back.

The kings of the Eighties alternative scene and champions of the alternative festival still have a huge fan base that fills concert halls - perhaps proving people still want something to sing about that means something.

Starts 7pm, £15, 7pm, 01273 709709.

Rumba Del Siglo, Dome Concert Hall, December 1.

The music described as the hub, the core, the root and the sweat of Cuba comes to the Dome courtesy of this group of 12 musicians who dance and six dancers who make music.

Literally meaning dance of the century, Rumba del Siglo was created as a live event in Havana by Afro Cuban dancer Roberto Tio Molina and this is their first performance outside Cuba.

Starts 8pm, £10- £17.50, 01273 709709.
