Dean Blackwell has followed Simon Rodger and signed a contract to stay with the Seagulls until the end of the season.
The deal is a double boost for boss Steve Coppell ahead of Saturday's trip to Preston as the former Wimbledon stopper is expected to be fit to resume his partnership with Danny Cullip at the back.
Blackwell has followed in the footsteps of Shoreham-born Simon Rodger by converting a monthly contract into a more permanent arrangement.
Ex-Crystal Palace midfielder Rodger signed for the rest of the campaign earlier this week and both players have been key figures in the Seagulls' mini-revival.
Coppell said: "The First Division is nothing new to them and they have brought that little bit of know-how, filling the right space at the right time."
Blackwell missed last Saturday's 1-0 home win over Derby with a hamstring injury but Coppell said: "I would be surprised if he is not fit for selection."
