The suit is making a comeback and Brighton tailor Gresham Blake is at the forefront of its revival.

Gresham and his wife and joint director Fal opened their shop in Bond Street in March.

They have been busy ever since and have just opened a fitting room.

Gresham said: "Business has grown beyond our expectations. People are turning from the casual look to something much smarter.

"Dress-down days are not as popular as they were.

"With the fitting room customers can have a cup of coffee while they choose the style and fabric for their suit.

"About 70 per cent of the suits we make are for weddings. Men are not content with an off-the-peg suit from the High Street, they want something more individual and they are surprised at the cost."

The latest stars to wear a Gresham Blake suit include Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt of Status Quo, Norman Cook and Zoe Ball and next year Brighton and Hove Albion will be sporting the look.
