Lost Souls is the final part in the Earth 2150 trilogy.

Set in the future, the game finds the Earth in peril after being knocked off its orbit by several large explosions.

You take control of one of three organisations. One is planning to escape the planet, but not if the other two can help it.

The choice of the Eurasian Dynasty, the United Civilised States or the Lunar Corporation affects the character of Lost Souls, offering a wide range of game play options in resource management, research and development, battle and stealth.

The game play adds some elements not seen in other real time strategy (RTS) games. Unit customisation, which allows you to design units of your liking, is a neat, easy-to-use feature that adds depth and longevity to the game.

You can swap between maps of your main base and the battlefield and send units and money from one base to another on a large ship.

Units have limited ammunition which adds to the strategic element.

The games interface is well done. An intuitive control panel keeps the bottom of the screen free for tasks and other statistics when you need them.

The effort to be original in video games should always be praised. Anyone looking for a thoughtful, solid RTS with a sci-fi theme could do a lot worse.
