East Grinstead have now gone three games without conceding a try but it did them no good on Saturday as they lost 3-0 at Tonbridge Juddian.

The Gs pack were convinced they had got the ball down for a matchwinning try but the referee was unsighted and could not award the score.

Juddian's penalty came after an award had been moved forward ten yards when Gs failed to retreat at a quickly taken tap.

Bognor and Chichester could turn the London Four South East title race into a West Sussex affair.

They fill the top two spots after impressive weekend wins and are already looking ahead to their derby at Hampshire Avenue two weeks on Saturday.

Chichester produced some of their best rugby of the season for a pleasing 45-0 home verdict over Folkestone.

Teenage outside half Jack Smallman, who is proving quite a find, scored two tries and kicked ten points.

Mark Webster (2), Nigel Turner and Craig Adfield also crossed but perhaps the most memorable sight was seeing slightly built winger Christian Davies barge his way through three tackles to reach the line.

Skipper Ben Polhill said: "It was a great result for us and our first cleansheet of the season but this is the sort of division where anyone can beat anyone."

Bognor are still improving and enjoyed a 27-3 home win over Heathfield and Waldron without hitting peak form.

Andy Shipp led the scoring with a try, two conversions and a penalty. Nigel Mitchell, Tom Spurle and Gareth Williams also got over.

Hove's backs are playing some great stuff with Ben Hampson pulling the strings from outside half.

They won 31-8 at home to Beccehamians, their first league success at Hove Rec, with the impressive Ben Davies scoring twice.

Carl Pittaway and James Finlason also got over with Martin Lovell adding three penalties and a conversion.

Crawley were 25 points down at the break and eventually lost 30-17 at Old Dunstonians.

Luke Denham, Joe Simpkins and Lee Preston scored second half tries.
