It is a sad but revealing commentary on some sections of our Press when an acknowledged sincere and genuine person such as Estelle Morris resigns partly because she found she was unable to cope with their intrusions into her private life.

Who can blame her when some newspapers had been pursuing members of her family, including her sister, cousins and uncle, in an attempt to write stories on why she had never married?

Is there any other country which has anything comparable to our Gutter Press?
