High Street retailer Marks & Spencer is preparing to expand a pilot project offering prisoners temporary jobs.
It follows the success of a trial in Norwich in which eight inmates from the city's prison were taken on for six weeks.
They were given jobs ranging from putting up displays to carrying items for customers.
M&S said the offenders chosen for the scheme were low-risk category D and the placements were part of preparations for their release.
They earn a wage, which goes to prison, which then gives inmates a small proportion.
