Eastbourne Borough will look to get their promotion challenge back on track against Dorchester tomorrow after suffering only their second defeat of the season on Saturday.
An eighth-minute goal from Dave Hassett sentenced them to a 1-0 defeat at Ashford Town in a game where Sussex referee Andy Legg dished out seven yellow cards.
Borough dominated the second half of the eastern division clash and Andy Ducille and Scott Ramsay missed great chances to equalise.
Former Albion striker Ramsay headed wide of an open goal with a minute left.
Borough coach Nick Greenwood admitted there had been a "frank exchange of views' with his players afterwards.
He said: "A few things were sorted out and hopefully we can produce the right response agaionst Dorchester.
"We cannot deny it is a setback because if we are going to get promoted we have to pick up points at places like Ashford.
"We camped in their half in the second half but I doubt if we would have scored if we had played all afternoon."
A debut goal for Kym Monroe failed to prevent another defeat for St Leonards who ended a troubled week, caused by disciplinary problems, with a 2-1 reverse at leaders Rothwell.
Monroe rounded off a counter-attack with a neat finish on 31 minutes as a Saints team containing four 17-year-olds gave the home side a few scares.
But two goals in two minutes turned the match around for the Bones. Dean Foley headed the equaliser from a free-kick and Simon Underwood scrambled in his seventh goal of the season.
At least Monroe had something to remember from a fifth league defeat for his side. He told the club's website: "It felt really good to score on my debut and gave me a massive confidence boost, which helped me settle.
"Apart from the goal, I thought it was a good team performance and we were unlucky to come away empty handed."
Saints entertain the side immediately below them, Newport IOW, at the Firs tonight (7.45pm) but top scorer Mark Lovell is likely to be missing through injury.
