Eastbourne Eagles will meet Wolverhampton in the Elite League championship decider.

Wolves beat Coventry 51-39 in last night's play-off semi-final.

Eagles and Wolves, the top two in the league, will now race off for the title in the play-off final .

The first leg is at Wol-verhampton next Wed-nesday, with the return at Arlington a week later.

Meanwhile, Eagles got their Craven Shield prog-ramme under way last night at Poole, where they were beaten 49-41.

The Sussex side never looked like sinking the Pirates on their own track, conceding 5-1's in heats three and four to trail 16-8.

Poole increased their lead to ten points, 26-16, after seven races before Eagles hit back with a 5-1 from David Norris and Dean Barker in heat nine.

That was Eastbourne's first heat advantage of the night, and when Norris and Joe Screen bagged a 4-2 in the next race the deficit was down to four points, 32-28.

That was as close as it got, however, with Poole stretching ahead again with 4-2's in heats 11 and 13.

World champion Tony Rickardsson took his revenge on Eastbourne No. 1 Mark Loram.

Loram beat him three times on the last occasion Eagles rode at Poole, but Rickardsson made sure there was no repeat.

He was in sublime form, winning all six of his races to post an 18-point maximum, four of his wins coming at the expense of Loram in heats one, 11, 13 and 15.

That still did not stop Loram topping the Eastbourne scorechart again with 13 points, while Screen was also in double figures.

Poole: Tony Rickardsson 18, Hans Andersen 11, Henrik Gustafsson 8, Bjarne Pedersen 5, Lars Gunnestad 4, Andre Compton 3.

Eastbourne: Mark Loram 13, Joe Screen 10, David Norris 7, Dean Barker 4, Adam Shields 4, Hennig Bager 2, Stefan Andersson 1.
