"Feedback" (The Argus, September 6) featured a complaint from a presumably down-at-heel reader that local Bank Holiday attractions advertised as free were nothing of the sort.
With this in mind, I thoroughly recommend the public right-of-way in the field opposite Herstmonceux Castle that affords a great view of the twice-daily battles that are staged as part of its three-day-long Medieval Festival, held each year.
Avoid the stinging nettles and cow pats (and the creatures responsible for them) and have a beggars' banquet.
This might be construed as a particularly useless piece of information, coming in mid-September, but not nearly so useless as the AA signs still boldly proclaiming this year's event almost three weeks down the line as of writing.
