I had to laugh when I saw the photo of Labour's John Warmington showing off his balloon race winner in Brunswick Square (The Argus, September 12).
For the past few weeks, residents have been having to pick up the remains of his burst balloons because most got no further than a few yards and have remained as litter in the gutter ever since.
It would be helpful if Labour councillors didn't add to the litter problem in this area, especially as their own council does so little to clean things up.
Mr Warmington is remembered in these parts as the man who, against massive protest from residents, tried to split the Brunswick community in the boundary review for his party's own political gain.
Methinks there is rather too much hot air in his balloons.
