Last week, a relative of mine was admitted to the Elton John Ward at Brighton General Hospital.
I must say it is the best ward she has been in. It was so clean, all the nursing staff are so friendly and only too willing to help both the patients and their visitors.
Although the charge nurse is strict, there is a lovely, relaxed atmosphere on the ward. The food is cooked on the premises and the chef goes around with the menus every meal.
The two male cleaners make drinks for the patients whenever they want one.
The whole ward team should get an award. I do not expect the top managers know about this ward - they are only interested in cutbacks.
Thank you to everyone - doctors, nurses, cleaners and chef - for my aunt's wonderful stay on the ward.
