I read with interest the article on the case of the stray cat which led to a court case (The Argus, Aug 6).
Had the owners (not a word I like to use - cats own you) reported this cat missing to the RSPCA, this problem would not have arisen.
This is a perfect example of when to microchip a cat or, at least, a collar and disc with name and phone number.
Since starting FUZZIESLIST, I am getting more and more calls about missing cats with no collar or microchip.
Doing this does not ensure the return of your cat but it makes it more difficult for it to slip through the net.
