Steve Luckhurst produced a man-of-the-match display as Lancing Manor beat Shoreham off the last ball to go second in the table.

Luckhurst took a hat-trick as the visitors were dismissed for 170. Ian McRae made 51, while Luckhurst finished with figures of 4-15.

Manor's talisman then hit the winning runs in an unbeaten 21 to steer the home team to 171-9.

Shoreham's John Bareham dropped Luckhurst off the final ball for a chance to tie the match. Danny Griffin (66) produced a good knock for the home side. Stewart Bareham took 6-25.

Shoreham, who were missing key batsmen Richard Lloyd and Nicholas Lee, considered themselves unfortunate to lose.

McRae said: "We were disappointed not to get anything out of the game, John had a chance to take Luckhurst off the last ball which would have been a great way to tie the match."

West Blatchington beat St Matthias to remain top of Division One. St Matthias side won the toss and asked the visitors to bat.

Chris Radmell scored 53 as the visitors made slow progress to reach 142-3. Then three quick wickets with out a run being added brought St Mathias back into the game. Robert Strickland was controversially given out when he handled the ball returning it to the bowler.

This brought Jeremy Carthew and Kirk Proto to the crease and the proceeded to demolish Mathias by hitting 65 off the remaining five overs. Carthew finished with 65 and his team on 207-9.

St Matthias never really got into the game after two early wickets fell. There was some resistance from Paul Drewitt who scored 58, but West Blatchington took a maximum 30 points after bowling St Matthias out for 138. Daniel Taylor took 4-22 and will bowl his first delivery next week on a hat-trick.

Sunny Agnihotri, Blatch's captain, said: "Jeremy's batting has been a revelation this season, he is a player who can turn round a match in a couple of overs."

Chichester Priory's Brian Harvey took 4-29 as Worthing Chippendale were dismissed for 74 to ensure a comfortable five-wicket win for the home team. In reply Chichester were 75-5.

Crawley Eagles III beat Dome Mission by one wicket. Eagles were 115-9 and Misson were closing in on the target thanks to Marcus Faithful's 47. However Awais took 5-5, including a hat-trick to leave the home team 112 all out.

Hove Medina maintained their 100 per cent record with a second successive victory. Blackstone were the home side's latest victims after they were dismissed for 77. Ian Soffe took 3-1 while Alan Hamper was 25 not out as Medina knocked off the runs for the loss of three wickets.

Patcham lost their first game and pole position after a defeat by Palmers. Nick Harvey hit an unbeaten 60, and Oliver Stone 53 as the home side made 175-4. Harvey then took 4-26 as the visitors were dismissed for 162.

Three Bridges III beat Middleton by 121 runs to register their first win of the season.
