Congratulations to Chris McPhee and Dean Hammond on earning two-year professional contracts with the Albion.
I read the story about the contracts with interest and was amused to see the headline "Taylor lasting legacy to fans" (Sports Argus, May 4).
Peter Taylor showed remarkably little interest in the Albion's fine youth policy.
For example, he watched only one of five Youth Cup matches and even walked out of that halfway through the second half. What kind of message did that send to the youngsters and fans?
Dick Knight says development of youth is a big factor in his appointment of a manager.
He was probably duped by Taylor's record with England under-21s but will surely expect the new man to show much more interest and long-term commitment.
