Apropos "Well spoken" (Letters, April 19), our youngest daughter at five, with her brother and sisters, joined with us in reading aloud a portion of the Bible every day.
It was our practice to read aloud, in rotation, five verses each.
This had the additional benefit of widely improving our children's vocabulary and facility with language and thus their general education and ability to write correctly and freely and, of course, their subsequent employment.
A free copy of our Bible reading plan, by which we read the entire Bible in a year - the Old Testament once and the New twice - can be obtained by request to me at my address.
