Hastings Town were crowned eastern division champions after a 4-2 win away to Wisbech Town.

The three points were enough to finally put the long-time leaders out of sight of chasing Grantham Town and Dorchester Town.

Manager George Wakeling said: "I feel really good about things, I've got a great bunch of lads.

"The last half a dozen games I was asking them to do things that I didn't think was in them because they were physically drained. We had used up our strength and players were going out there carrying injuries, but we've crossed the line first and that's what it's all about."

The title was secured against a Wisbech side fighting for their league future.

With so much at stake, a tense and tight encounter looked on the cards, but the theory was blown out of the water by five goals inside an incredible first 30 minutes.

Hastings opened the scoring after only three minutes when goalkeeper Lee Brooks allowed a Paul Ruddy header to slip between his legs and roll over the line.

The home stormed into a 2-1 lead thanks to strikes from Andy Furnell and Danny Steadman.

But two goals in a minute before the half-hour mark turned the match on its head. Adam Flanagan equalised with a towering header from a Stuart Myall corner and Landry Zahana-Oni lashed home a loose ball after Wisbech had failed to deal with another set piece.

It was amazing there was only one more goal with both sets of defences were out of sorts.

A Chris Honey effort looped over the stranded Brooks just two minutes into the second half.

Hastings had chances to extend their lead but they had already done enough to secure the championship.

An injury-time brawl with three sendings off marred Crawley's last home premier division game of the season.

Reds were beaten 2-1 by Moor Green in a game that turned nasty when host player Keith Sharman was shown the red card with the visitors' Jae Martin. Clinton Moore was also ordered off.

Moore had only been on the pitch for two minutes as a substitute and appeared to be restraining Moors' Nathan Lamey.

Crawley manager Billy Smith said: "I didn't see what sparked the row but Clinton was certainly very unlucky to get sent off.

"I could possibly have taken Keith Sharman off earlier as he had already been booked and was a little fired up. It was a poor performance."

An Ian Payne mistake helped give Moor Green a 19th-minute lead. He allowed Marvin Blake to set up Lamey who rounded Andy Little before slotting in.

A Martin cross allowed allowed Martin Myers to double Moors' lead in the 61st minute.

Carroll pulled a goal back in the 79th minute after he turned in a Rob Collins effort.
