The anonymous person who attacked me (Letters, April 12) not only misrepresents my views but is also selective in his reading of history and selectively anti-Semitic.

The Jewish people are not of one religion. The Palestinians by ancestry, both Christian and Muslim, are Jewish. They are historically the same people, divided by religion, yet all three religions share the same base, including the part relating to the Promised Land. No section of this nation - not racial group - has a biblical preferential right to Palestine.

Should my attacker read the Balfour Declaration and later International Agency documents on the establishment of a Jewish state, he would note the rights of the native population had to be maintained and only the Jewish state was required to be inclusive, not exclusive.

The massacres of native Palestinians by Zionist terror groups in the Forties and expulsion of nearly two million Palestinians from their homes and country was against religion, law and morality. Prior to September 11, the worst bombing atrocity was the blowing up of the King David Hotel by Zionist terrorists with the loss of hundreds of innocent lives.

Not only do I oppose racism but also any wrongdoing by my own country. I support justice, morality and civilised behaviour, regardless of race or creed. The brave Israeli Jews who campaign for peace are the true patriots. They want to live in a moral state. Surely my accuser is not happy to see an Israeli premier put on the mantle of Adolf Hitler?
