I have just returned home after visiting the UK for four weeks, I spent most of the time in the Brighton and Hove area.
I have to congratulate your bus drivers. They were polite and helpful. How they ever manage to manoeuvre the buses around such narrow streets amazed me.
I take my hat off to them for a job well done. The one thing that did disturb me was the amount of doggy do and litter on the streets.
I spoke to quite a few locals and, from what I can gather, Brighton and Hove City Council collects quite a lot in community charges.
What does it do with it? It obviously don't spend it on cleaning the streets.
I have to say, it does turn you off and it spoilt an otherwise very pleasant trip.
