I have been a clubber since 1988 but have never been to a shambles such as the Fatboy Slim/Timo Maas event last Saturday at the newly refurbished Brighton Dome.

For £26, hundreds of people were made to queue once inside the building to get into one of the three rooms, the Dome Theatre itself, where Timo Maas and Fatboy Slim were playing.

Once inside, we found no drinks were available, not even water, and there were no toilets. A friend who wanted to pee had to leave the room, relieve himself and queue for an hour and 15 minutes to get back in to find his worried girlfriend.

Fatboy Slim had to play in one of the other rooms to try to reduce the crush in the Dome.

The stressed security staff eventually shut all access to the Dome, leaving hundreds of angry people hurling abuse and some kicking the doors trying to get in to see Fatboy Slim.

The two DJs should have played in alternate rooms, then swapped, so allowing clubbers in both rooms to see them.

I am amazed there were no casualties from the crush outside or from dehydration in the main room. My girlfriend and I left early in disgust.

Sort it out, boys. Remember why you started the Beat Boutique and where your roots are.
