Crawley Town are on course for a meeting with their former boss John Maggs in the Sussex Floodlight Cup final.

Reds booked their place with a 2-0 victory over battling Horsham YMCA at Horsham's Queen Street ground.

Maggs' Horsham side now stand between Crawley and the silverware.

A very poor game saw Reds struggle to impose themselves on their County League opponents.

Reds brought Nigel Brake and Luke Anderson back into their starting line-up but lost Anderson after quarter-of-an-hour through injury.

The few clear chances in a dire first half saw former Crawley striker Nick Flint fire over for YM when in space and then see a free kick pushed over the bar by Andy Little.

Ian Payne and Dave Stevens set up substitute Rob Collins to lob Jason Dumbrill for the opening goal in the 75th minute.

The lead was doubled seven minutes from the end as YM's David Oakes was adjudged to have handled and Payne converted the penalty.

Maggs was among a crowd of 278 who watched the game.

East Preston kept their promotion hopes alive with a stunning comeback at Lancing.

EP are locked with East Grinstead and Eastbourne Town in the race to claim the third promotion spot from Rich City League division two.

They trailed 2-0 early in the second half at Culver Road but eventually won 3-2 with high-scoring Matt Huckett hitting a late winner.

The result takes EP on to 60 points, two clear of Grinstead.

Both teams have three games to play, including a six-pointer against each other to round-off the season.

Eastbourne Town have 65 points having completed their fixtures.

The division one title can be wrapped up tonight. Victory for Wick at Ringmer will give Burgess Hill their fourth title in six seasons.

Rich City League, division two: Lancing 2 (Clark 46, Miles 49), East Preston 3 (L. Farrell 54, 73, M. Huckett 84).

Mid Sussex Senior Charity Cup, semi-final: Forest 0, Burgess Hill Res 1.
