It is too late after the event for Assistant Chief Constable Nigel Yeo to say sorry for his insensitive remarks.
A person in his position should not be making them in the first place.
Whatever crime Bruce committed, Mr Yeo's was worse and he should immediately do the honourable thing and resign if the police want to regain the respect of the public.
