Albion are buying loan signing Wayne Gray a gong for scoring a crucial goal.

The Wimbledon forward will be awarded a medal by the club, together with other fringe members of the Second Division championship winning squad.

All staff will also receive gongs on the recommendation of manager Peter Taylor.

Several players have not made enough appearances to qualify for the official medals, presented after last Saturday's title-clinching goalless draw against Swindon at Withdean.

Chief executive Martin Perry revealed: "There is a 25 per cent rule, which means players effectively have to play more than 11 League games.

"There are spares and the club then purchases additional medals for players we feel are entitled to one.

"Somebody like Wayne Gray scored a vital goal at Colchester and we will certainly be rewarding him.

"Peter has made his recommendations to the Board and extra ones will also be awarded to Will Packham, David Lee, Daniel Marney, Shaun Wilkinson, Phill Hadland and Chris Jones."

Taylor is anxious to ensure everybody that works for the club shares in the Seagulls' consecutive title successes.

Perry said: "The manager has also asked, and it has been agreed, that all members of staff will also receive a medal for the contribution they have made towards the championship double."
