What a wonderful day it was for great-grandmother Peggy Redwood when she went to see her idol Ken Dodd, courtesy of The Argus.
The veteran comic was at his best both during his show in Crawley and when he met his most devoted fan.
After he had signed autographs, cracked jokes and sent her a surprise birthday card, Mrs Redwood could only echo Doddy's theme song, Happiness.
