As a resident of Chanctonbury Road, Brighton, I cannot see what the fuss is about ("£1m gym faces axe", The Argus, March 25).
There is plenty of land at the college. The structure could be made more presentable by trees judiciously planted round it.
Lou McCurdy, who has lived in the street for only a couple of years, was instrumental in closing our road and I do not ever remember being consulted.
I have lived here for 20 years. Nor do I think there was any planning permission. It was suddenly a fait accompli.
Stop this stupid nonsense. If there had been fewer protesters, we might still have a viable West Pier.
