With regard to the proposed developments at Jubilee Street, Brighton station and the West Pier, why is Brighton and Hove City Council not aiming higher?
It talks about the new jobs that will be created by these new developments but I can't see any permanent jobs resulting other than lower-paid ones in shops, restaurants and hotels.
Let's drop this ridiculous campaign to become European Capital of Culture and concentrate resources on creating better-quality long-term jobs.
Let's spend the money on attracting companies that are moving out of London to Brighton and Hove.
Reading and Bristol spent time and money on rebranding exercises in the Nineties and look at them now. Reading is one of the high-tech centres of the UK.
We want a city with real jobs, not one which is the European capital for hen and stag parties.
