You are dead right, N Swift of Fiveways (Letters, March 2). It is purely selfish you want to go to Lewes to play tennis and dread having your way blocked by football traffic.

I know what it's like when I go to football and have my way blocked by people going to play tennis, visitors to Brighton and Hove and people going about their daily lives - it ought to be stopped.

What gives you the right to pursue your sport yet not want others to have that same right?

I travel the A27 daily from Polegate to Brighton and, like most roads, the only time it is choked with traffic is during roadworks.

If you think it is dangerous that cars feed in from the left and other cars cross from the right, it might be better if you caught a train to Lewes.

But that would mean a small walk at each end and we wouldn't want you tired for tennis, would we?
