I thank The Argus (March 4) for the generous coverage of the Conservative Party's event on April 18 at Pool night club.
I have received a lot of supportive calls from local businesses, individuals and organisations expressing interest in the event and hope there will be many more.
However, I would like to make a couple of clarifications.
Firstly, my original statement to The Argus inadvertently gave the impression this event is not open to members of the Conservative Party. Obviously, it is.
Indeed, the event is open to all, regardless of sexual orientation, colour or creed. The party welcomes people from all parts of society.
Secondly, I would like to invite representatives of other minority communities who would be interested in joining a dialogue with the Conservative Party.
The party believes it is crucial to earn the support of people from all backgrounds and in all communities.
In the coming days, the party will be writing to other community leaders asking them to join this special occasion.
If any reader would like to attend, please contact me on 01273-571199 or 07957 607153 for further details.
