Simon Morgan is set to return to the heart of Albion's defence for Saturday's Withdean showdown against Huddersfield.

Boss Peter Taylor has revealed the veteran former Fulham stopper will be back to partner Danny Cullip at the expense of teenager Adam Virgo.

Morgan was left out of the squad for Monday's 3-1 home win against leaders Reading.

Taylor decided it was asking too much for Morgan to play again 48 hours after Albion's 2-0 defeat at Oldham.

"Playing Saturday and Monday meant I was always going to try and bring fresh legs in," Taylor said.

"If you look at Premiership teams there are not many 35-year-olds playing on a Saturday and Monday.

"Adam Virgo was perfect for the Reading game and he did very well, but Simon Morgan will be back on Saturday."

Monday's match was only the third Morgan has missed in the League since arriving from Fulham last summer on a Bosman free transfer.

Virgo deputised for him last month at Brentford when a head injury ruled him out.

The 19-year-old from Brighton stood in for the following fixture against Cardiff as well, when Morgan was sidelined by a one-match suspension for accumulating five bookings.

Taylor also omitted Paul Rogers and Charlie Oatway against Reading. They played for the reserves at Leyton Orient yesterday in a 3-3 draw.

"It was hard leaving out those three, because they are all such good pros," Taylor said.

"That's why us managers go old and grey because we have to make decisions. Sometimes they come off and sometimes they don't.

"We bounced back from last Saturday and now we have got to keep it going. It's another massive game this Saturday and if we can maintain our home form we will give ourselves a chance."

Albion bid for a fifth straight home win against Huddersfield. Lou Macari's men are six points and four places below the Seagulls.

Taylor expects Reading to re-establish a seven point lead at Swindon tonight, although Albion will have two games in hand. "They are a good side and I am sure they will give Swindon a going over," he added.
