It's out in the open at last. Some councillors are trying to make their part-time job full time. Most of them hint about working at least 40 hours a week and are already on a nice little earner, tax-free.

It makes you wonder how many councillors have a full-time occupation anyway. If their expenses increase each year at the rate they are now, Aston Martins and villas in Spain will become commonplace for them in the future. On top of this, cuts all over our city are being made, plus massive hikes in council tax and car-parking fees. Are they to pave the way for this to take place? As for 40-hour weeks, we already have twice as many councillors as the city needs. It should be chop, chop, not take, take.
