MONDAY: Boss Peter Taylor believes the 4-0 drubbing at Brentford could prove a blessing in disguise.

"The most positive thing about it is that it gives everybody a kick up the backside. I mean absolutely everybody, directors, supporters, players and management.

"At times we think this game is very easy because of the good run we've had. I think it will bring everybody back down to earth and serve as a reminder of what we have achieved."

TUESDAY: Richard Carpenter issues a rallying cry ahead of the clash against his old club Cardiff.

"We have got to pick ourselves up, get together and concentrate on Thursday," declares the midfielder.

"We weren't our normal selves at Brentford. It was worrying at the time and afterwards, then thinking over the weekend about it, but you cannot dwell on it.

"We have got another big game coming up then another one on Tuesday, so we have got to get something out of them. There is no point throwing all that we have done away over one result."

Albion are knocked out of the second automatic promotion place as Stoke snatch a 2-1 win at Peterborough, while the reserves' Sussex Senior Cup tie against Hassocks at Bognor is postponed.

WEDNESDAY: Michel Kuipers is Albion's No. 1 again after the Seagulls decide against extending the loan spell of Simon Royce from Leicester.

The Dutchman makes a full recovery from thigh and back injuries which had sidelined him since December 21.

Assistant Bob Booker says: "His back spasm has cleared up. He could have played at Brentford last week, but that was the last game of Simon's loan.

"He has been training hard, diving around, kicking a ball and doing everything he would in a game, so he is fit to play."

THURSDAY: Albion bounce back from the Brentford defeat with a 1-0 win over Cardiff City at Withdean which takes them back into second place.

Bobby Zamora gets the only goal with a 14th minute penalty after Nathan Jones is brought down.

Robbie Pethick, Adam Virgo and Daniel Webb are called into an Albion side missing the suspended Simon Morgan, Paul Watson and Gary Hart.

Cardiff have Leo Fortune-West sent off for a second bookable offence.

An injury crisis at Leicester is jeopardising Taylor's long-standing plan to bring the versatile Junior Lewis in on loan for three months. Lewis is back in first team contention at Filbert Street.

FRIDAY: Adam Virgo admits he "lived a dream" again after helping Albion to victory over Cardiff.

The Rookie defender, standing in for the suspended Morgan, says: "I cannot describe how good it feels for me. It's unbelievable.

"Last season was an experience I will never forget and hopefully this season we can win promotion again. I am living a dream."
