A football fan had his car written off after a collision with a van full of rival supporters who drove away.
The hit-and-run occurred after the match between Brighton and Hove Albion and Cardiff City at Withdean stadium on Thursday evening.
Albion fan Finn McBratney, 27, left the game in high spirits after Albion won 1-0 but was brought back down to Earth when a van of Cardiff fans drove into his Peugeot.
Mr McBratney said: "As I was driving along Withdean Road, a van suddenly reversed into my car. They laughed and jeered at me and drove off. Quite a few of us ran after them but they got away."
He contacted police who traced the van to a hire company based in Cardiff.
Officers are trying to discover the name of the person who hired the vehicle for the day.
Mr McBratney, of Greenacres, Shoreham, said: "My car door will not shut and I'm going to have to get another car.
"There was a lot of crowd trouble but that's what you expect with Cardiff. They're reputation is as bad as anyone in Division Two."
Sussex Police are investigating.
