Top DJ Norman Cook is to hold another free party on Brighton beach this summer.
Last July, the Hove DJ, who uses the name Fatboy Slim, played to crowds of more than 35,000 as part of a Channel 4 broadcast.
Now he has teamed up with Brighton and Hove City Council to repeat the music extravaganza, which might become an annual attraction.
It would be the showcase event of the Where Else campaign, the city's bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2008.
A council spokesman said: "Last year's show was the highlight of 2001 so we're really excited about the prospect of another one.
"It's 95 per cent certain at the moment but we've yet to fix the date. Sometime in June or July looks favourite.
"Norman is a great figurehead for the kind of non-snobby, inclusive version of 'culture' we're talking about."
Norman is in negotiations with sponsors who would help fund the event.
He said: "It was trouble free last year. Everyone had a brilliant time. People are very keen to get involved because it is such a positive event for Brighton. I can't see any reason why it won't go ahead."
Norman would headline with Skint Records boss Damian Harris (Midfield General) and John Digweed, who lives in Hove.
A live recording of last year's party is Fatboy Slim's next album. Norman's record label, Southern Fried Records, will release Fatboy Slim Live On Brighton Beach on February 25.
