Worthing boss Barry Lloyd fears his side may be developing a complex about playing at home after the Boxing Day defeat.

Rebels have taken 15 of their 28 points away from Woodside Road and Lloyd said he detected signs of uneasiness on Wednesday.

He added: "Maybe they don't enjoy playing here. I sensed that in the first 45 minutes.

"I thought it was a steady performance without us really getting into any sort of gear.

"We missed Mark Burt as well. He's the one lad who talks. We are a quiet bunch, too quiet, and I don't understand it."

Lloyd also tasted his first criticism from some fans, who were quick to question the decision to use Gavin Geddes on the right hand side of midfield in a 4-4-2 formation.

That will not worry the boss too much, although he has revealed he is unlikely to repeat the experiment.

Lloyd was hoping to make a County League signing ahead of today's game with Northwood and admits his squad needs more depth.

The club have boosted their off-pitch team by appointing Jools Chaffer, 29, as their commercial manager.
