I was very shocked to read an article and a letter (The Argus, December 1 and 6) both of the opinion that people with learning disabilities can be "cured" through exorcism.
People with learning difficulties already have enough prejudice to overcome.
I work with such people and can only imagine how hurt any one of them would be if reading those comments - perhaps some of them did. To suggest they are sometimes possessed by evil spirits is offensive and damaging. These people are as sensitive and diverse as everyone else.
