It is good to see, for once in politics, somebody is sticking to their principles.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Paul Elgood has issued a strong ultimatum to Labour's Ken Bodfish over community and public participation in the new committee system and he is right. Councillor Bodfish would do well to remember the public spoke convincingly in the referendum and, by doing so, rejected a closed system of local democracy.

Openness and accountability seem values far away from what Coun Bodfish wants. He would do well to listen before the public rejects such apropositions again at the next set of local elections.
