Our school, East Brighton College of Media Arts, has received a lot of bad publicity recently in the Press and on television. In our opinion, this is most unfair.
While it is true we have a lot of truancy, this is hardly the fault of the teachers or the school. Students play truant for a lot of reasons and most of our worst offenders have been sent to us from other Brighton schools.
Our school is a pleasure to be at and we want to do well. There is a caring, family atmosphere here and the staff are well respected. The school is improving all the time.
Several of us spent a day's work experience in other local schools. We think our school compares very well in terms of behaviour and the facilities it offers to students.
