A teenager charged with murdering an elderly clergyman will stand trial next year.

The 18-year-old boy from the St Leonards area, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of killing the Rev Ronald Glazebrook, 81, at his ground-floor flat in Dane Road, St Leonards.

He is also charged with conspiring with another to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a dead body without lawful excuse.

Judge Richard Brown, at Lewes Crown Court, yesterday adjourned the case until June 3.

The severed limbs of Rev Glazebrook were discovered in May behind a sports centre 500 yards from Hastings police station, two weeks after he was reported missing by his daughter.

The teenager was remanded in custody.
