With the passing of Hallowe'en for another year, I am very concerned about reports of the increasing number of attacks on people's property (The Argus, November 1).

"Trick Or Treat" is a threat made to people who do not produce a "treat" on the doorstep when demanded.

On any other day of the year, this would be dealt with as a serious matter by the police. As parents often accompany children nowadays during this practice, I very much hope they just walk away, with their children, when no treat is offered. There are plenty of Hallowe'en parties for the children and their parents to attend, and I would suggest they spend the evening at these events.
