Two bomb scares caused chaos in Brighton and Hove over the weekend.
George Street in Hove was evacuated at 2pm yesterday after a member of the public reported a suspicious package outside the British Heart Foundation shop.
Restaurants and shops were cleared and a bomb disposal team was called in.
Bar and shop staff watched as the package was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
On Saturday morning, police had sealed off Dyke Road from Seven Dials to Old Shoreham Road, Brighton, following the discovery of another suspicious package.
The Royal Navy bomb squad destroyed the package three hours later.
It turned out to be a video recorder.
