Postal workers in and around Brighton and Hove are narrowly failing to hit targets for delivering first-class mail the next day.
But their performance is still well above the national average.
New figures reveal that 91.8 per cent of letters and parcels bound for areas with a BN postcode were delivered the following day from April to June.
That is above the national average of 86.5 per cent but falls short of the target of 92.5 per cent set by Consignia, the company running the Royal Mail.
The figures were revealed in a Parliamentary answer as Consignia was attacked for planning to scrap 8am collections from many post boxes.
