Lewes and East Grinstead are facing a double dose of action this weekend.

After a weekend off, the top two sides in Sussex return to action with National League games tomorrow and HA Cup ties on Sunday.

A trip to promoted Firebrands awaits Lewes in division one tomorrow before premier division high-fliers Surbiton visit in round three of the cup on Sunday.

Before the break Lewes enjoyed an impressive 4-2 league win over Barford Tigers and they will be looking to carry that form into tomorrow's game in Bristol.

Manager Peter Boyse said: "We are fairly confident. We don't know much about them because they have only just come up.

"They haven't had a great start. We believe they are a side we can take points off and we are looking for a win."

Adrian Bettesworth drops out of an otherwise unchanged squad. Nick van Tromp is fit again after injury.

Sunday's match will provide an extremely tough test for a young Lewes side and the Sussex side will use the occasion to see whether some of their fringe players are up to this standard of hockey.

Marnix Achterburg, a striker who has played at junior level for Switzerland, comes into the squad for the first time and South African Mark Wilkinson could get a chance in goal.

Bettesworth also returns to the squad but Tim Garner and Jon Hooker are unavailable.

East Grinstead will be looking to continue their excellent start to the season when they entertain Peterborough in National League division two tomorrow.

They follow this game with a match at home to Old Georgians in the HA Cup on Sunday.

Grinstead are without Ben Payne this weekend but they add Alex Pizzey and Charlie Pine to the squad for both games while Matt Gorten comes into the party for Sunday's cup clash.

Old Georgians are likely include Angmering-based goalkeeper Mark Limbrick who is flown in from Holland, where he works, to play for the South Premier League side every week.

Chichester will be looking to bounce back from last Saturday's humiliating 7-0 defeat by Oxford University when they visit Old Cranleighans in South Premier tomorrow.

In the Kent/Sussex Regional League, Brighton continue to be without injured pair Richard Baker and Paul Daniels for tomorrow's visit to Horsham. However, Simon Acott, Pete Meldew and goalkeeper Jamie Westwood return to the squad.

Horsham welcome back Richard Lowe, minus two front teeth.

Lowe lost the teeth in a training ground accident and subsequently missed last Saturday's defeat at home to leaders Holcombe. However, he is now ready to rejoin a Horsham squad which will be missing the influential Andy Down.

Worthing welcome back James Godber and David Edmondson for their home match with Crawley but defender Lee Martin is unavailable. Mid Sussex are at home to Herne Bay.
