Three of Albion's four summer signings are on stand-by to make their debuts in the club's opening pre-season friendly against Worthing at Woodside Road tonight.
Dirk Lehmann, a German striker signed from Hibernian, experienced defender Simon Morgan, who switched from Fulham, and midfielder Geoff Pitcher, a capture from non-league Kingstonian, could be involved.
Former Bristol Rovers defender Robbie Pethick is likely to miss out because of hamstring trouble, but is set to face Folkestone in the second friendly in Kent tomorrow.
Albion boss Micky Adams said: "I haven't made my mind up how I will split it up but all four of our new signings will be involved over the two games.
"I think I'll save Robbie until the Folkestone game to give him a bit more time with his hamstring.
"I will be fielding Brighton XIs, not first teams or reserve teams. I want to take a look at how the boys are progressing.
"The pre-season training is going well and Robbie's the only one with a little fitness worry."
Worthing manager Sammy Donnelly said: "We have to be competitive otherwise Albion will steamroller us. The result isn't important, the match is more so that I can get a shape to the team for the coming season."
Albion were naming a squad after training this morning.
Worthing squad: Wastell, May, Smart, James, Beech, Tuck, Burt, Davis, Kennett, Rice, Carrington, Geddes, Brackley, West, Donnelly, Montgomery, Francis, Vanson, Knee.
