Does anyone remember this Hollywood supporting actor from the Thirties and Forties? He later went on to perform in The Quiet Man with John Wayne.
Believe it or not, he was the smallest of eight brothers. All eight were officers in the First World War - one for the Guinness Book Of Records, I think.
This character later went on to fight world heavyweight champion Jack Johnson. He had been a boy soldier in the Boer War and, in the First World War, rose to the rank of captain in the Irish Fusiliers. He was also made Major and Provost Marshal of Baghdad.
His name? Victor McLaglan.
