Police are looking for witnesses to a hit and run incident involving an elderly pedestrian in Brighton on Friday night.
The elderly man suffered a broken left leg and a fractured shoulder when he was in collision with a car at 9.50pm.
A police spokeswoman said the man was unconscious after the crash and there were fears initially that he could have suffered a nasty head injury.
She said they were concerned for his welfare, particularly because of his age.
However he was taken to the Royal Sussex Hospital and the injuries were found to be less serious than feared.
Officers have no description of the vehicle or its occupants. Anyone with information should contact PC McGuckin at the Shoreham traffic unit on 0845 6070999.
