Brighton Kemp Town MP Des Turner will add his weight to a campaign to have the Downs near east Brighton included in a new national park.
Residents fighting for the area to be part of the proposed South Downs national park will present him with a copy of their report, called Environmental Justice, at Whitehawk Hill today.
The document makes the case for including Whitehawk Hill, Mount Pleasant and Rottingdean in the park.
Dr Turner said: "My feeling is if we want to protect the integrity of the Downs then the place to start is on the fringes."
