It's great news that all pensioners will be able to get a half-fare bus pass for free.
That means pensioners can travel for half-fare anywhere in Sussex at any time of day.
Last year, Adur's Labour councillors successfully dropped the cost of the half-fare pensioners' bus pass to just £5.
This was a massive drop from its previous price of £42 when the Lib Dems where in charge locally.
Now the Labour Government is further helping all pensioners. It has not only increased the tax-free winter fuel allowance to £200 and pensions by £5 and £8 for pensioner couples, but has also ensured that, despite opposition from the Tories and Lib Dems, all pensioners will have a free half-fare bus pass fully funded by the Government.
The icing on the cake is the recent news that soon all men as well as women over 60 years of age will get their half-fare bus pass free.
